Bagara annam is very popular dish in Hyderabad.. This is a common dish in Hyderabad for most of the festivals and get-togethers.
It goes very well with Chicken gravy or any other masala curry.Ingredients:
. Basmati rice 2 cups
. Water 3 cups
. Ilachi 4 no's
. Lavang 4 no's
. Cinnamon
. Ginger garlic paste 1 spoon
. Mirchi 4 no's(slit in between)
. Onions 1 no's(chopped)
. Chopped Pudina 1/2 cup
. Bay leaves 2
. 1/2 cup Cashew nuts
. Sajeera 1/2 tbsp
. Ghee 2 tbsps
. oil 4 tbsps
. salt to taste
Method:
1) Soak Basmathi rice along with Cinnamon, ilachi and lavang for 1/2 hr.
2) Heat oil and ghee in bottomed pan and add chopped onions, chilly's, mint leaves, ginger garlic paste,ilachi,lavang,cinnamon, sajeera, cashew nuts and bay leaves and fry for some time.
3) Now add soaked rice(with out water) and fry for some time.Now add water(which is used for soaking rice) along with salt and cook the rice until done. This can be prepared in pressure cooker also.
Yummy dish with nice aroma is ready to serve...
